Kyoto Cafe Hopping - Kitano Tenmangu area (1/4) - Latte Art Junkies Roasting Shop 2nd

Hello everyone, ol-lady here. I decided, the moment I got a job/internship in Kyoto, that I will visit as many cafes my wallet can afford in Kyoto. For my first post, I choose my first cafe hopping trip which is today! I have 2 days off work, and I have used today very satisfyingly. I did kind of get lost (actually not. I just hopped on a bus, believed in google maps that the trip is only 24 minutes, but I kept riding the bus until about an hour. When I was going to write on Facebook that I was lost, the bus driver announced the next station: Kitano Tenmangu Jinja Mae! I... was ALMOST lost!), but in the end... it's all worth the journey!

I visited 4 shops around the shrine: Latte Art Junkies 2nd (apparently this is the second shop of the coffee stand), Tofu Cafe Fujino, Castella do Paulo, and Patisserie Cafe 3eme. Around half an hour before I went out of my apartment, I already researched about cafes around the shrine and yes, I managed to go to all four! They are all very close to each other, but for my first post, I'll start with Latte Art Junkies 2nd and next, the Green Momiji Leaves viewing at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (the reason I chose to go there and hop some cafes around)!

I took bus #203 from near my apartment, and... about 20+ minutes after, the driver told all the passengers to change to another #203 bus. We all did. And the drive continues... for another 30 minutes! Well, luckily I arrived at Kitano Tenmangu Jinjamae bus stop safe and sound. Then, I just walked a little bit and I reached Latte Art Junkies 2nd! Surprisingly (I just forgot) Tofu Cafe Fujino is right opposite Junkies!

I went inside to see... now my favorite coffee stand in Kyoto!

I was fascinated by the decor and the underfloor 'garden'. After a couple of minute of appreciating the cuteness of the coffee stand, I ordered Sakura Cafe Latte! (600yen, excl.tax)

The coffee was good! I was wondering where the sakura taste was, but the last sip of the coffee, there was a sakura flower inside (I accidentally swallowed it. I was afraid I would poop before I finished all my to-visit list) and I could taste the flower.

When I just got my coffee, a passerby came and asked the number of the cafe (the number of the building) in English. I tried asking the barista in Japanese, but apparently she could speak English! We then started chatting, and became friends. The barista's name is Miki and she learnt how to make coffee in Melbourne. We then talked about Australia, coffee, and a lot more. We also took pictures together.

I also tasted a sample of their coffee 'jelly'? It was quite nice.

Here are some more pictures to please your eyes!

After an hour of great chat with the lovely lady, I left to visit the shrine and the tofu cafe. Miki sent me off, and I left the coffee shop with a big smile and a wonderful day. Thank you Miki! I'm so glad that I went there.
