Kyoto Cafe & Bar - Fukunaga, Sir Thomas Lipton Teramachi Shopping Street
Hi everyone.
Greetings from Kyoto!
On Thursday 20/4, my friend Emily and I agreed to eat dinner together after shift. We met at the employee dining room and we were just casually chatting when she asked me what I would be doing after. We wanted to buy new shoes for work, so we decided to find the shoes and go eat dinner together.
Wait. Because I need this picture to be on the cover of the post, I will tell you first that the main topic of this post is about my visit to the Fukunaga cake shop which is joint with the Sir Thomas Lipton.
On the way to Teramachi Shopping Street, we stopped by the Shijo Station area. We took some pictures!
Finally, we reached Teramachi, bought the shoes, and when we were searching for a cheap place to eat, we stopped in front of Fukunaga cake shop. The strawberry cakes tempted us - and we spent our 'cheap meal' money on that.
Apparently it's attached (merged?) with Sir Lipton Thomas' restaurant. So the place has both a restaurant and a cake shop!
I ordered Strawberry sponge cake and Emily ordered Strawberry tart. I tried Emily's strawberry tart, and it was an interesting cake because there were many layers and colors on the cake. The uppermost layer had the strongest taste of strawberry, and a layer of milk cream in the middle layer, and goes down to a layer of pistachios. When it goes into your mouth, you will be overwhelmed by the diverse tastes suddenly bursting in your mouth.
As much as I loved the strawberry shortcake from Hampton Court, the sponge cake from Fukunaga was just superb. The fluffiness, yet soft sponge was wonderful, the sweetness of the cream was perfect, the sponge was not dry and the whole eating experience was a pure bliss. It was heaven on strawberries.
Percentage of coming back? 90%.
*Note: percentage of coming back is not rating. It doesn't mean that it's a bad place, it's just my personal opinion whether I would go all the way back. I may be going back again if I don't have any more places on my list to visit.

I would love to come back again to try other cakes! Definitely recommended.
