Kurasu Kyoto (Kyoto Station Area)
A
few days before, Emily and I decided to go to a mango and melon buffet
at Hotel Granvia Kyoto. A friend at work, Aoi showed me the promotion
she saw online - the buffet would be only 2000yen if we book it from the
website!
Luckily we had the same day off on , so we booked our seats online! Finally, on the day itself, we agreed to meet in front of my apartment at around 10.30 of 30/5, then we walked a little bit to the bus stop and took the bus to Kagyoku Sogochoshazen bus stop, then a little bit of walk to find Kurasu Kyoto!
Oh, by the way, at the bus stop we met a really nice guy who helped us find which bus and how many stops we should take!
When we first arrived, the shop was full of people, mostly tourists. We started to lose interest because of the queue, but we're so glad that we didn't actually miss the chance to try Kurasu's coffee!
It was a hot day, so I couldn't bring myself to order a hot latte. Instead, I ordered iced coffee from Peru (if I'm not mistaken lol).
It was a bit different from what I usually drink, as it tasted a little bit more sour, but absolutely refreshing. The staff all could speak English and were very friendly.
The only thing that my friend complained was the chair because it's made of hard wood and it was difficult for her to sit and get off.
So she stood up.
We took some cards from there and we found the story about the shop very interesting. We really enjoyed our time at the coffee stand, and I'd love to go back to try the hot coffee next time (I'll fight the heat with heat!)!
Also, when we went out from Kurasu and tried to find a cafe for a light lunch, an old man with a bicycle who was passing just suddenly came to us and asked us in English, "Can I help you? Are you looking for something?". He was really nice! We didn't actually need anything, so we just had a small talk a bit and then parted ways with him. He even said "Please enjoy Kyoto!" when he left to continue his journey.
Great day.
