Kyoto Cafe Hopping - Omiya-dori (3/3) - Sußes Vegetus
Continuing to the last part of my Omiya-dori adventure, I went a bit further (actually very near to STARDUST) and visited the bakery, Subes Vegetus (Sußes Vegetus).
The lady of the shop was very friendly! I was still looking from outside, but from inside the shop she already waved at me. So, I went in and... talked to her. It's a very small bakery that sells baumkuchen. Apparently this traditional German split cake is a popular snack and dessert in Japan.
I then asked if they have menu. Apparently their menu was what's on display! I asked for her recommendation and she told me their original recipe is the best selling product. It's honey baumkuchen!
I paid 610yen. I thought it was 500yen, but apparently they weighted the piece and then gave the price according to the weight. This shop, although there are a couple of chair, doesn't let people dine inside the shop. So yeah, I had to leave. It's alright. She was nice, and the shop was tiny. I think they should remove the table and chairs in the shop if they don't want the customers to sit down and chill and eat.
When I was paying, she asked me where I came from. I told her I'm from Indonesia, and she was so surprised. Apparently I'm her first Indonesian customer. Most of her foreign customers are from China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong.
Before I left, I asked if I could take her picture. She laughed and then arranged her appearance a little bit. She's so cute!
I left with a smile, but I was so hungry, that I just ate it on my way to Kuramaguchi-dori.
Tasted good!
At first, I was going to bread house Bamboo, but in the end I went to the shop next door instead lol.
By the way, on my way to STARDUST and Sußes Vegetus, I saw a small shrine/temple. Cute!
